Granted, the name for the Sakura-saku Pencils brings to mind Japan's famous cherry blossoms (which are called "sakura"). Technically, this pencil-plant set is cosmos, or "aki-zakura" (autumn cherry), but the idea is still terrific: a pencil that after it reaches the stage when you can't use it anymore, gets reincarnated into a plant to live a second much longer life!
Perfect for a school student (the beginning of a new year, a good grade, etc), the Sakura-saku Pencils come packaged in a beautiful, very Japanese and very sakura-like pink envelope. You can use the pencils until they reach a certain mark and then you remove a piece of tape covering a small hole, put the pencil in a pot, water it, and let the seed contained inside it blossom and transform into a beautiful plant.
