While it isn't as famous as sakura (cherry blossoms) and spring, the Japanese also love momiji (or koyo), the red maple leaves that are the sign of the autumn season. The shape of a maple leave is a sight as familiar to any Japanese as it is to any Canadian and if you add the scent of hinoki cypress you get Bath Aroma Momiji: a product that promises to make your bathtub look, smell and feel like an onsen (hot spring) deep in the mountains of Japan!
Separate the five maple-leaf shaped pieces of hinoki cypress from their round frame, fill your bathtub with hot water and let them float. The temperature will bring out the wood's natural fragrance and you can have a relaxing soak pretty much as you would in a traditional Japanese inn (traditional bathtubs are made of this wood so the scent is unmistakably Japanese).
