In the country of the infamous mukade, centipedes growing up to 20cm (8"), it's no wonder that scientists would become fascinated with the creatures - enough to start making robots shaped like them! To honor the research done in the Universities of Kyoto and Osaka and their robots, Tamiya has created its own, the Tamiya Centipede Robot, a cross between the creepy and cute.
The colors make the Tamiya Centipede Robot easy on the eye. Building it is also easy, so you will have it, well, while not exactly "up and running," at least "down and slithering" in no time. See how it moves over various terrains (its antennae allow it to adjust to uneven surfaces) and contemplate how its living relatives evolved and function in nature.
